The Progressive Women's Association (PROWA) inaugurated its new national executives in Accra on June 15, 2026. The event took place at the Ghana International Conference Centre, with members and dignitaries in attendance.
The newly elected executives include Madam Akua Asantewaa as President, Madam Efua Mensah as Vice President, and Madam Nana Yaa Ofori as General Secretary. They will serve a four-year term.
In her acceptance speech, Madam Asantewaa emphasized the association's commitment to empowering women through education and economic initiatives. She called for unity among members to advance gender equality in Ghana.
The inauguration was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, who commended PROWA's efforts in promoting women's rights.
