SINGAPORE: This year's President's Challenge will support 62 new programmes across 60 organisations, as part of a broader push to drive sustained social upliftment in Singapore. The annual fundraising event, launched in 2000, continues to focus on early intervention and support for persons with disabilities.
The programmes aim to address key social needs, including early childhood development, caregiver support, and inclusive employment. President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, who launched the initiative, emphasized the importance of collective action in building a more caring society.
Among the supported initiatives are community-based therapy services, assistive technology training, and mentorship schemes for vulnerable youth. The President's Challenge has raised over S$200 million since its inception, benefiting more than 500 organisations.
For 2026, the challenge encourages public participation through donations and volunteerism, with a target to engage more Singaporeans in social service. Detailed information on the programmes is available on the President's Challenge website.
