Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a man following a burglary in the Auckland suburb of Glen Innes. The incident occurred on Chiltern Crescent, where occupants awoke to find an unknown male inside their home.

Detective Senior Sergeant Rebekah Webb of the Auckland City East Police confirmed an investigation is underway. She stated the man was disturbed by the occupants and fled the address. No one was physically injured during the incident.

Police have released an image of a person of interest, described as a man of medium build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and dark shoes. He was also carrying a backpack.

Investigators are urging anyone who recognizes the man or who has any information about the burglary, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, to contact Auckland City East Police. Information can also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
