A Perth paediatrician accused of sexually abusing 10 children has appeared in court facing 20 fresh charges, with prosecutors alleging he used a dating website to contact underage girls. Chia Liang Saw, 41, appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, where the court was told there could be more victims.
The new charges include 10 counts of sexual penetration of a child under 13, six counts of indecent dealing with a child under 13, and four counts of using a carriage service to procure a person under 16. The alleged offences occurred between 2018 and 2022, with victims aged between 8 and 14 at the time.
Police allege Saw used the dating app Tinder to contact some of the victims, who were patients at his paediatric practice in the Perth suburb of Subiaco. The court heard that Saw had access to the children through his medical practice and allegedly abused his position of trust.
Saw was first charged in November 2025 with 10 offences, but the new charges bring the total to 30. He remains in custody and did not apply for bail. The case was adjourned to August 25, 2026, for a committal hearing.
Western Australia Police have urged any other potential victims or witnesses to come forward, establishing a dedicated task force to investigate the case. The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) has suspended Saw's medical registration.
