The Pell City Council has officially appointed Jerry Dailey as the city's new fire chief. The appointment was confirmed during a council meeting on Monday, March 23, 2026.

Dailey is a 30-year veteran of the Pell City Fire Department, having served most recently as the interim chief. He began his career as a volunteer firefighter and rose through the ranks, holding positions including firefighter, lieutenant, and deputy chief.

City Manager Brian Muenger recommended Dailey for the permanent position, citing his extensive experience and deep knowledge of the department's operations and community needs. The council's vote to confirm was unanimous.

In his new role, Chief Dailey will oversee all fire suppression, prevention, and emergency medical services for the city. He succeeds former Chief Mike Burdette, who retired in late 2025.
