McLaren's Lando Norris claimed pole position for the sprint race at the Miami Grand Prix on Friday, edging out Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli. The session, held under sunny skies at the Miami International Autodrome, saw Norris set a fastest lap time of 1:28.932.
Antonelli, the 19-year-old Italian rookie, impressed by securing second place on the grid, just 0.124 seconds behind Norris. Red Bull's Max Verstappen qualified third, while Ferrari's Charles Leclerc took fourth.
The sprint race, scheduled for later on Saturday, will be 19 laps. Norris aims to convert his pole into a win after a strong start to the 2026 season. The main Miami Grand Prix takes place on Sunday.
