Nintendo has announced a price increase for its Nintendo Switch Online subscription service in Japan, effective from July 2026. The hike applies to both the standard and expansion pack tiers, with the individual 12-month plan rising from ¥2,400 to ¥3,000, and the family plan from ¥4,500 to ¥5,500. The expansion pack sees similar increases.
According to Nintendo's official statement, the adjustment is due to rising operational costs and the need to maintain service quality. The company confirmed that, as of June 23, 2026, no price changes are planned for other territories, including North America and Europe.
This move follows a broader trend of subscription price increases across the gaming industry, though Nintendo has not indicated any future global adjustments. Current subscribers in Japan will see the new rates upon their next renewal after the effective date.
