Chinese automotive parts manufacturer Ningbo Gaofa Automotive Control System Co., Ltd. has announced plans to establish a production base in Morocco, marking its first significant international expansion. The company specializes in transmission control systems, electronic pedals, and automotive cables.
According to verified reports from Chinese and Moroccan business media, the new facility will be located in the Tangier Automotive City (TAC) free zone, near the Port of Tangier Med. The plant is expected to supply components to major automakers operating in the region, including Stellantis and Renault, both of which have assembly plants in Morocco.
Ningbo Gaofa's move aligns with a broader trend of Chinese automotive suppliers setting up operations in North Africa to serve European and local car manufacturers. The company has not disclosed the exact investment amount or production capacity, but industry analysts estimate the facility could begin operations by late 2026 or early 2027.
Morocco has become an attractive hub for automotive manufacturing due to its free trade agreements with Europe, competitive labor costs, and existing automotive ecosystem. The country produced over 700,000 vehicles in 2025, making it Africa's largest car producer.
