England and Chelsea legend John Terry has expressed disappointment over Nigeria's absence from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, calling it a 'big miss' for the tournament. The Super Eagles failed to qualify after finishing behind South Africa and Rwanda in their qualifying group.
Terry, speaking to The PUNCH, said: 'It's a big miss for the World Cup. Nigeria has a rich football history and passionate fans. Their absence will be felt.'
Nigeria, under coach Eric Chelle, finished third in Group C of the CAF qualifiers with 10 points, behind South Africa (14) and Rwanda (12). The tournament began on June 11, 2026, in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
