Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti has named Neymar in the 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which begins on June 11. The 34-year-old forward had not played for the Seleção since October 18, 2025, due to a hamstring injury.
Neymar's inclusion marks his fourth World Cup appearance, having debuted in 2014. He is Brazil's all-time leading scorer with 79 goals in 128 appearances.
João Pedro, the Brighton & Hove Albion striker, was not included in the squad. The 24-year-old has been recovering from a thigh injury sustained in April 2026.
Ancelotti, who took over as Brazil head coach in 2024, emphasized Neymar's experience and leadership. 'He is a key player for us,' Ancelotti said in a press conference on May 18.
Brazil are in Group G alongside Switzerland, Cameroon, and Serbia. The tournament runs from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
