Emma Navarro defeated top seed Iga Swiatek 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 on Wednesday to reach the Bad Homburg quarterfinals. This marks her second consecutive victory over the former World No. 1, following their match at the 2024 US Open.
The match, played on grass courts, saw Navarro take the first set with a late break. Swiatek responded strongly in the second set, breaking early to level the match. In the deciding set, Navarro broke Swiatek's serve twice to secure the win.
Navarro, currently ranked No. 17, will face either Diana Shnaider or Caroline Wozniacki in the quarterfinals. Swiatek, a five-time Grand Slam champion, was competing in her first tournament since winning the 2024 French Open.
