A man from the Myrtle Beach area has been arrested and charged following an incident where he allegedly threatened his neighbors and assaulted a police officer. According to Horry County police records, the suspect was taken into custody on Wednesday, April 2, 2026.
Officers responded to a residence in the Socastee area after reports of a man threatening to kill his neighbors. Upon arrival, police attempted to detain the individual. During the arrest, the suspect allegedly became combative and punched an officer in the face.
The Horry County Police Department has charged the man with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, as well as threatening the life of a public official. He is currently being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. The condition of the assaulted officer has not been disclosed.
This incident remains under investigation by local authorities. No further details about the initial dispute with the neighbors have been released at this time.
