PUTRAJAYA, May 4 — The National Integrated Immigration System (MyNIISe) will be fully implemented this September, alongside enhanced MyKad security features to be introduced in June, as part of efforts to strengthen the national identity system and improve border security, according to Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
Speaking at a press conference here, the minister said the MyNIISe system, which replaces the old Malaysian Immigration System (MyIMMs), will integrate all immigration-related data into a single platform, enabling faster processing and better tracking of travelers. The enhanced MyKad will include biometric upgrades and anti-forgery measures.
The June rollout of the new MyKad features will begin with a pilot phase before nationwide expansion. The minister emphasized that the upgrades are part of a broader digital transformation agenda under the 12th Malaysia Plan.
