Investors traded shares worth sh12.02 billion on the MTN Uganda counter during the week ending August 21, 2026, according to data from Crested Capital, a Ugandan investment firm. This represented about 90% of the total weekly turnover on the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE).
The telco's stock has been among the most actively traded on the USE since its listing in 2021. The high trading activity reflects continued investor interest in the company, which is the largest telecom operator in Uganda by subscribers.
Market analysts note that MTN Uganda's performance is closely watched as an indicator of investor sentiment in the country's capital markets. The USE has seen a mix of activity across various counters, but MTN consistently leads in trading volumes.
