Morocco's Daam Sakane housing support program has allocated 8.32 billion Moroccan dirhams (MAD) in public aid to facilitate access to housing, according to Hicham Airoud, a program official. The initial target was to reach approximately 100,000 beneficiaries per year, and current projections align with this goal.
The program, launched by the Moroccan government, provides direct financial assistance to eligible citizens to purchase or build homes. As of May 2026, the program has been operational for several months, with officials confirming that the number of beneficiaries is on track to meet the annual target.
Airoud stated in an interview with Finances News Hebdo that the state's objective was to achieve around 100,000 beneficiaries annually. He noted that the program's implementation is proceeding as planned, with no significant deviations from the initial projections.
The 8.32 billion MAD in public aid represents a substantial investment in housing affordability, aiming to address the housing needs of low- and middle-income households in Morocco. The program is part of broader government efforts to improve living conditions and stimulate the construction sector.
