The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed Morocco as the winner of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The title was awarded after the scheduled final opponent, Senegal, withdrew from the tournament, resulting in a walkover victory for the Moroccan team.

Moroccan national team players, including star goalkeeper Yassine 'Bono' Bounou, have begun to publicly react to the unprecedented circumstances of their championship. In statements, Bounou expressed mixed emotions, acknowledging the achievement while noting the unusual path to the trophy.

The Senegalese Football Federation officially cited internal reasons for its team's withdrawal from the final match. CAF statutes were applied to declare Morocco the champion following the forfeit.

This marks Morocco's third AFCON title, adding to their previous wins in 1976 and 2004. The team's performance throughout the tournament prior to the final had been widely praised.
