The Democratic Association of Moroccan Women (ADFM) has sent letters to all Moroccan political parties, urging them to integrate gender equality into their electoral platforms. The initiative, announced on July 14, 2026, aims to ensure women's rights are prioritized in upcoming elections.
According to the ADFM, the letters call for concrete measures such as quotas for women in candidate lists, equal access to education and healthcare, and policies to combat violence against women. The association emphasized that these demands align with Morocco's constitutional commitments to gender equality.
This action comes as Morocco prepares for parliamentary elections, with women's rights groups increasingly vocal about the need for political representation. The ADFM has previously campaigned for legal reforms, including changes to the family code and labor laws.
