Moroccan and Spanish security forces conducted a joint operation on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, to dismantle a suspected terrorist cell operating between the two countries. The operation was carried out simultaneously in multiple cities.

According to a statement from Morocco's Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), the cell was composed of individuals aged between 22 and 33. The suspects were allegedly involved in activities related to the promotion of extremist ideology and were suspected of planning terrorist acts.

The BCIJ, which operates under Morocco's Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), coordinated the operation with Spain's General Commissariat of Information. The joint action highlights ongoing security cooperation between the two nations to combat cross-border terrorist threats.

Authorities reported that the operation led to the arrest of several individuals. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the cell's activities and connections.
