According to the latest UN Tourism World Tourism Barometer, Morocco ranked 22nd globally in international tourist arrivals in 2025, welcoming 19.8 million visitors. This represents a significant increase from previous years, highlighting the country's growing appeal as a travel destination.
The data, released in early 2026, shows that Morocco's tourism sector has rebounded strongly, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. The 19.8 million arrivals mark a record high for the North African nation, driven by improved air connectivity, visa facilitation, and marketing campaigns.
UN Tourism, formerly known as the UNWTO, compiles the barometer annually based on reports from member states. The ranking places Morocco among the top 25 most-visited countries worldwide, ahead of several European and Asian destinations.
Tourism remains a key pillar of Morocco's economy, contributing significantly to employment and foreign exchange earnings. The government has set ambitious targets to attract 26 million tourists by 2030, coinciding with the country's co-hosting of the FIFA World Cup.
