According to the latest data from the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Morocco ranked 22nd globally in international tourist arrivals in 2025, with 17 million visitors. This marks a significant recovery from the pandemic-era lows, driven by increased air connectivity and marketing campaigns.
The ranking places Morocco ahead of several European destinations, including Portugal and Greece, and reflects the country's growing appeal as a diverse travel hub. Key source markets included France, Spain, and the United Kingdom, with notable growth from Gulf countries.
Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor stated that the sector contributed 7% to Morocco's GDP in 2025, supporting over 500,000 jobs. The government aims to reach 26 million tourists by 2030, coinciding with the country's co-hosting of the FIFA World Cup.
