On July 20, 2026, the Moroccan Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, Omar Hejira, officially launched the eTrade.ma platform during a ceremony in Casablanca. The event was attended by public officials, economic operators, representatives of the Moroccan Association of Exporters (ASMEX), and about 50 exporting company executives.
eTrade.ma is designed to serve as a digital passport for Moroccan exporters, providing tools and resources to facilitate access to international markets. The platform offers features such as market intelligence, trade documentation management, and connections with potential buyers abroad.
According to the Secretary of State, the initiative aims to simplify administrative procedures and reduce barriers for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) looking to export. The platform is part of Morocco's broader strategy to digitize the economy and increase the country's export competitiveness.
ASMEX representatives praised the initiative, noting that it addresses a key challenge for Moroccan exporters: navigating complex international trade regulations. The platform is expected to benefit over 1,000 companies in its first year, with plans to expand its services based on user feedback.
