Morocco's mobile telecommunications sector reached a new milestone in early 2026, with the total subscriber base hitting 57.06 million by the end of March, according to the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT).
The figure includes 48.73 million prepaid subscriptions and 8.33 million postpaid subscriptions, reflecting the continued dominance of prepaid plans in the Moroccan market.
The ANRT report, released in June 2026, also noted a slight increase in mobile penetration rate, which now stands at 151.7%βmeaning many subscribers hold multiple SIM cards.
This growth is part of a broader trend in Morocco's digital transformation, supported by ongoing investments in 4G and 5G infrastructure by operators such as Maroc Telecom, Orange, and Inwi.
