Microsoft has announced a global price increase for its Xbox Series X and Series S consoles, effective immediately. The move follows a similar price hike by Apple for its products earlier this year.
The new pricing varies by region. In the United States, the Xbox Series X now costs $499.99, up from $499.99 (no change), while the Xbox Series S is now $299.99, up from $299.99 (no change). However, in Europe, the Xbox Series X has increased to €549.99 from €499.99, and the Series S to €349.99 from €299.99. In the UK, the Series X is now £479.99, up from £449.99, and the Series S is £299.99, up from £249.99.
Microsoft cited economic conditions, including inflation and currency fluctuations, as reasons for the price adjustment. The company stated that the new prices are necessary to maintain competitive pricing while ensuring sustainable production.
This price increase comes after Apple raised prices for its iPhone, iPad, and Mac lines in several countries earlier in 2026. The tech industry has been grappling with rising component costs and supply chain challenges.
