Morocco's Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) dismantled a terrorist cell composed of six extremists in operations conducted on Sunday and Monday, April 5 and 6, 2026. The agency, which operates under the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), announced the arrests in a statement.

The suspects, aged between 22 and 46, were arrested in coordinated raids across several cities, including Casablanca, Tangier, and Marrakech. Authorities allege the cell was involved in plotting terrorist acts and had connections to extremist ideologies.

During the operations, security forces seized an array of weapons and materials, including homemade explosives, electronic devices, bladed weapons, and propaganda material from extremist organizations. The BCIJ stated the cell members were in advanced stages of preparing terrorist projects aimed at undermining public order.

The suspects have been placed in custody for further investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office. The operation is part of Morocco's ongoing counter-terrorism efforts to preempt security threats.
