Morocco reaffirmed its commitment to improving health and environmental conditions across Africa at the One Health Summit held in Lyon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, President of the House of Representatives, represented King Mohammed VI at the event, underscoring the kingdom's active engagement in continental health initiatives.
Speaking at the summit, Talbi El Alami highlighted Morocco's efforts to strengthen health systems across Africa, in line with the vision of King Mohammed VI, who has long positioned Morocco as a key partner in African development. The One Health approach integrates human, animal, and environmental health as interconnected priorities.
Morocco has in recent years expanded its health diplomacy across the African continent, including investments in hospital infrastructure, medical training, and pharmaceutical production. The country has also positioned itself as a regional hub for vaccine manufacturing and health supply chains.
The One Health Summit in Lyon brought together international stakeholders to address cross-border health challenges, including pandemic preparedness, zoonotic diseases, and climate-related health risks. Morocco's participation at the highest representative level signals its ambition to play a leading role in shaping Africa's health future.
