Morocco and Gabon have formalized a partnership to enhance their cooperation in the digital sector, with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and skills development. The agreement was signed by Ghita Mezzour, Morocco's Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, and Léon Armel Bounda, Gabon's Minister of Digital Economy.
The memorandum of understanding aims to establish a framework for collaboration in digital governance, cybersecurity, and the development of digital infrastructure. A key component involves the transfer of expertise and training programs to accelerate digital transformation in both nations.
This bilateral cooperation aligns with Morocco's broader strategy to position itself as a digital hub in Africa, while supporting Gabon's own national digital development goals. The partnership is expected to include joint projects and knowledge-sharing initiatives in emerging technologies.
