Morocco has established itself as a significant player in the global aerospace industry over the past two decades. The sector is a major contributor to the national economy and the country's leading export industry.
According to industry reports and government statements, Morocco's aerospace ecosystem includes over 140 companies and employs approximately 17,000 people. The country manufactures a wide range of aircraft parts, including wiring, fuselage components, and engine parts for major manufacturers like Boeing, Airbus, and Safran.
Building on this foundation, Moroccan authorities have announced an ambition to move into higher-value manufacturing. A key strategic goal, as stated by the Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade, is to develop and produce a complete aircraft engine on national soil by the year 2030.
This objective is part of a broader industrial acceleration plan to deepen the sector's capabilities and integrate more complex technologies. The plan focuses on training a skilled workforce and attracting further investment to achieve this technological milestone.
