Ilan Berman, vice-president of the American Foreign Policy Council, has described Morocco as a 'model of success' politically and economically, driven by the 'clairvoyant' vision of King Mohammed VI. Berman made the remarks in a recent interview, highlighting Morocco's stability and development under the monarchy.
Berman noted that Morocco has become a key player in Africa and the Middle East, with significant investments in infrastructure, renewable energy, and regional diplomacy. He pointed to the country's role in the Abraham Accords and its efforts to resolve the Western Sahara conflict as examples of its growing influence.
The expert also praised Morocco's economic reforms, which have attracted foreign investment and boosted growth. He cited the country's automotive and aerospace industries as success stories, along with its ambitious solar energy projects like the Noor Ouarzazate complex.
Berman's comments come amid ongoing international recognition of Morocco's progress. The World Bank and IMF have noted the country's resilience, though challenges remain, including unemployment and regional disparities.
