Millwall Football Club is considering legal action after Westminster City Council used the club's badge on an illustration of a Ku Klux Klan member in a children's anti-racism booklet distributed in primary schools.
The image, which appeared in a booklet aimed at educating children about racism, sparked outrage from the club, which has a history of fighting against racist stereotypes. Millwall stated that the use of its badge was 'deeply offensive and inappropriate' and that it was exploring all legal options.
Westminster City Council has apologized for the error, calling it a 'mistake' and stating that the booklet was intended to promote anti-racism. The council said it would review its procedures to prevent such incidents in the future.
Millwall has a long-standing campaign against racism, including the 'No to Racism' initiative, and has worked with local communities to promote inclusion. The club emphasized that it does not tolerate any form of discrimination.
