Aaron Sykes, principal of Keysborough Secondary College in Melbourne, remains too traumatised to return to work after being stabbed by a teacher in his office in December 2025, a court has heard.
Kim Ramcharan, a teacher at the school, ambushed Sykes in his office on December 10, 2025, and stabbed him multiple times. Sykes suffered life-threatening injuries and was hospitalised.
At a hearing on May 6, 2026, the court was told that Sykes is still unable to work due to the psychological impact of the attack. Ramcharan has been charged with attempted murder and is in custody.
The incident has shocked the school community, with staff and students receiving counselling. The case is ongoing.
