The Stade de Marrakech is set to undergo a major renovation, with a contract worth 767 million Moroccan dirhams (MDH) awarded for the installation of a new roof and the renovation of its facade. The project aims to modernize the stadium, which has a capacity of approximately 45,000 spectators.
According to reports, the contract was awarded by the Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports. The work is expected to be completed in time for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
The renovation is part of a broader effort to upgrade Moroccan stadiums to meet international standards for the World Cup. The Stade de Marrakech, originally built in 2011, has hosted major events including the African Nations Championship and various club competitions.
