A 26-year-old man was shot dead while sitting in a car near Euston station in central London on Saturday night, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed. The incident occurred on Chalton Street, NW1, shortly before 11:30 PM on March 28, 2026.
Emergency services attended, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics. The Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation. No arrests have been made at this time, and a crime scene remains in place.
Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Mordaunt, leading the investigation, stated, "This was a shocking act of violence in a residential area. We are pursuing several lines of enquiry and are keen to hear from anyone with information." Police are urging witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
