KUALA LUMPUR, July 19 — A 44-year-old man was killed after a tree fell and crushed the car he was driving in front of Dua Residensi, near the Singapore Embassy, on Jalan Tun Razak here at about 10.20pm on July 18.
Dang Wangi police chief ACP Sazalee Adam said the victim, identified as Mohd Firdaus Mohd Zain, died at the scene. The tree also damaged another car, but no other injuries were reported.
Fire and rescue personnel from the Dang Wangi station were deployed to remove the tree and extract the victim's body. The cause of the tree fall is under investigation, with weather conditions believed to be a factor.
Traffic on Jalan Tun Razak was disrupted for several hours as cleanup operations were carried out. The case has been classified as sudden death.
