Police have charged a man with first-degree murder in connection with the 2018 death of a woman in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. The charge was announced on June 17, 2026, by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).
The victim, identified as 32-year-old Melissa Blunden, was found dead in her home on March 24, 2018. The case had remained unsolved for over eight years before the recent breakthrough.
The accused, whose name has not been released pending court proceedings, was arrested earlier this week. IHIT says the investigation involved collaboration with the Ridge Meadows RCMP and the BC Coroners Service.
Blunden's family has been notified of the charge. The accused is scheduled to appear in Port Coquitlam provincial court on June 18, 2026.
