Mamelodi Sundowns have won the 2026 CAF Champions League, defeating AS FAR Rabat 1-0 on aggregate in the two-legged final. The second leg, played on May 24, 2026, at the Stade Moulay Abdellah in Rabat, Morocco, ended in a 0-0 draw, securing the title for the South African side after their 1-0 victory in the first leg in Pretoria.
The first leg, held on May 17, 2026, at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, saw Sundowns take a narrow lead with a goal from Peter Shalulile in the 67th minute. AS FAR Rabat pushed hard in the return leg but could not break down Sundowns' defense, led by captain Themba Zwane.
This is Sundowns' second CAF Champions League title, their first since 2016. The team, coached by Manqoba Mngqithi, dominated the group stage and knockout rounds, finishing the tournament with an unbeaten record.
AS FAR Rabat, making their first final appearance since 2005, showed strong form throughout the competition but fell short in the final. The Moroccan side had eliminated Esperance de Tunis in the semifinals.
