Koch Industries and OCP Group have announced an expansion of their joint venture at the Jorf Lasfar industrial platform in Morocco, according to a statement released on July 17, 2026. The partnership aims to increase production capacity for phosphate-based fertilizers, responding to growing global demand and supply chain pressures.
The expansion includes new processing units and infrastructure upgrades at the Jorf Lasfar site, one of the world's largest fertilizer production hubs. OCP, a state-owned Moroccan phosphate giant, and Koch, a US-based conglomerate, have collaborated since 2017 on fertilizer manufacturing and distribution.
Financial terms of the expansion were not disclosed. The move comes as fertilizer prices remain volatile due to geopolitical tensions and trade disruptions. OCP controls approximately 70% of the world's phosphate reserves, making the partnership strategically significant for global food security.
