PHILADELPHIA — Jalen Brunson scored 33 points and the New York Knicks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 109-94 on Friday night to take a 3-0 lead in their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series, according to the Associated Press.
Brunson also had eight rebounds and five assists, leading a balanced Knicks attack. Josh Hart added 20 points and six rebounds, while OG Anunoby contributed 15 points and seven rebounds. The Knicks shot 48.8% from the field and outrebounded the 76ers 48-38.
Joel Embiid led Philadelphia with 28 points and 10 rebounds, but the 76ers struggled from three-point range, hitting just 9 of 31 attempts (29%). Tyrese Maxey added 21 points and six assists in the loss.
The game was played at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, where Knicks fans made their presence heard throughout the contest. New York can complete the series sweep in Game 4 on Sunday.
