Police in Bengaluru have registered a case against officials of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines following a complaint from a family alleging they were wrongfully denied boarding passes, resulting in financial loss. The incident reportedly occurred at Kempegowda International Airport in late March 2026.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed with the airport police, the family of four claimed they arrived for their scheduled flight but were not issued boarding passes by the airline's staff. The family stated this led to them missing their flight and incurring significant additional costs.
Authorities have booked the airline officials under sections of the Indian Penal Code related to cheating and criminal breach of trust. An investigation is ongoing. KLM has acknowledged the complaint and stated it is cooperating with the investigation while conducting its own internal review of the incident.
The case highlights ongoing passenger rights issues in air travel, particularly concerning denied boarding and compensation. Consumer rights groups have noted the importance of airlines adhering to established regulations for handling such situations.
