Kenya: DP Kindiki Warns Against Looting in Protests

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has stated that the government will not allow any attempts to exploit the planned opposition protests for looting or property destruction. He warned that stern action will be taken against those who break the law.

Speaking on Tuesday, Kindiki emphasized that the right to protest is protected, but it must be exercised peacefully. He urged organizers to ensure their demonstrations remain within legal bounds.

The protests, called by opposition leader Raila Odinga, are scheduled for Thursday. Kindiki's remarks come amid heightened security preparations across the country.
