Kelowna Fire Department crews responded to a residential structure fire on the afternoon of Thursday, April 16, 2026. The incident occurred at a home on the 200 block of Glenmore Road North.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a deck at the rear of the home fully engulfed in flames. The fire was spreading to the home's exterior siding. Crews initiated an aggressive attack, knocking down the main body of fire within approximately 20 minutes.
Two adult residents and their dog had safely evacuated the home before firefighters arrived. There were no injuries reported to civilians or fire personnel. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Kelowna Fire Department.
The fire caused significant damage to the deck and exterior of the home. Firefighters remained on scene for several hours to ensure complete extinguishment and conduct overhaul operations.
