A federal judge in the United States has dismissed the majority of claims in a lawsuit filed by actress Blake Lively against director and co-star Justin Baldoni. The suit, filed in 2025, alleged sexual harassment and a hostile work environment during the filming of the 2024 romantic drama "It Ends with Us."
According to court documents from the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Judge John A. Kronstadt granted in part and denied in part Baldoni's motion to dismiss on April 1, 2026. The judge dismissed Lively's claims for sexual harassment under the Civil Rights Act and for intentional infliction of emotional distress, finding the legal standards were not met.
However, the judge allowed one claim to proceed: a allegation of gender violence under California law. This claim is based on an incident where Baldoni allegedly grabbed Lively's hand without consent during a scene rehearsal. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.
Representatives for both Lively and Baldoni have not issued public statements following the recent ruling. The case is ongoing regarding the remaining claim.
