The Jigawa State Government has approved a total of N9 billion for projects in livestock development, healthcare, and workers' welfare, according to a statement from the state's Commissioner for Information, Mr. Sagir Musa, on July 9, 2026.
The approval was made during the State Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Umar Namadi. The funds are allocated to improve infrastructure and services in these key sectors.
Specifically, N5 billion is earmarked for livestock development, including the establishment of grazing reserves and veterinary services. Another N2.5 billion is allocated for healthcare, focusing on upgrading primary health centers and purchasing medical equipment. The remaining N1.5 billion is for workers' welfare, including salary enhancements and training programs.
The government stated that these investments aim to boost agricultural productivity, improve health outcomes, and enhance the well-being of civil servants in the state.
