Indian Ambassador to Morocco, Sanjay Rana, has described Morocco as a stable, modern, and strategic partner for India, in an interview published by Le Matin on May 13, 2026. Rana highlighted the strong momentum in bilateral relations in recent years, citing regular high-level visits and growing economic cooperation.
According to Rana, India and Morocco share common views on many regional and international issues, including counter-terrorism and climate change. He noted that trade between the two countries has increased, with Indian investments in Morocco focusing on sectors such as automotive components, IT, and pharmaceuticals.
The ambassador also mentioned cultural and educational exchanges, including scholarships for Moroccan students under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program. Rana expressed optimism about future collaboration in renewable energy, agriculture, and digital technology.
