Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended an official invitation to King Mohammed VI of Morocco to attend the 4th India-Africa Forum Summit, according to a statement from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs on May 10, 2026. The summit, aimed at enhancing cooperation between India and African nations, is scheduled to take place in New Delhi later this year.
The invitation was conveyed during a diplomatic meeting between Indian and Moroccan officials in Rabat. The India-Africa Forum Summit, first held in 2008, serves as a platform for dialogue on trade, investment, technology transfer, and capacity building. Morocco has been a key partner in India's engagement with Africa, with bilateral trade reaching $3.2 billion in 2025.
King Mohammed VI's participation is expected to further strengthen ties, particularly in areas such as renewable energy, agriculture, and pharmaceuticals. The summit will also address shared challenges like climate change and food security.
