An Israel Defense Forces combat officer was severely wounded in a Hezbollah attack in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, March 26, 2026. The incident occurred near the northern Israeli community of Metula.

The officer was struck by an anti-tank missile fired by the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah. The IDF confirmed the attack and the soldier's injuries in a statement.

The wounded soldier was evacuated by helicopter to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya for treatment. The IDF stated that the soldier's family has been notified of the incident.

The attack is part of ongoing cross-border hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel, which have escalated since the start of the Gaza conflict in October 2023. The exchange of fire has resulted in numerous casualties on both sides.
