The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has announced additional weekend closures for the I-135/Kellogg interchange project in Wichita, Kansas, as construction continues through summer 2026. The project, which began in 2024, aims to improve traffic flow and safety at one of the city's busiest intersections.
According to KDOT officials, closures will occur on select weekends from July through September 2026, with exact dates to be confirmed based on weather and construction progress. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes, such as K-96 or US-54, to avoid delays.
The $150 million project includes replacing bridges, adding lanes, and upgrading ramps. As of June 2026, major structural work is 60% complete, with final completion expected in late 2027.
