HYDERABAD – Muhammad Saleem Memon, president of the Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry, has called on the Sindh government and relevant institutions to implement immediate preventive measures against the potential threat of dengue in the city.
In a statement, Memon emphasized the need for proactive steps, including fumigation drives, surveillance of stagnant water, and public awareness campaigns, to prevent an outbreak. He noted that the monsoon season increases the risk of dengue transmission.
Memon urged the authorities to ensure availability of dengue diagnostic facilities and treatment at public hospitals. He also stressed the importance of community participation in eliminating mosquito breeding sites.
The call comes as health officials in Pakistan have reported dengue cases in various cities, though specific numbers for Hyderabad were not confirmed at the time of writing.
