Lee Cheuk-hing tendered his resignation on Thursday as principal of San Wui Commercial Society Secondary School in Tuen Mun, school manager Edmund Wong Chun-sek confirmed. Wong, a former lawmaker, said the schoolβs board of directors would have to meet to discuss the resignation.
The incident occurred during a school trip to Singapore, where Lee was filmed swearing at security guards at a hotel. The video went viral on social media, prompting public outcry and calls for his resignation.
Lee later issued an apology, stating that his actions were inappropriate and that he took full responsibility. The school board is expected to make a decision on the resignation in the coming days.
