Guy Gilboa-Dalal, a former hostage held by Hamas, has spoken publicly about the sexual assault he experienced during his captivity. In an interview with Israeli First Lady Michal Herzog, Gilboa-Dalal said he feels a mission to use his voice to empower other victims of sexual assault.
The interview, which was conducted as part of a campaign to raise awareness about sexual violence in conflict, highlighted the trauma faced by hostages. Gilboa-Dalal was among those taken during the October 7, 2023, attacks and was released in a November 2023 hostage deal.
Gilboa-Dalal's account adds to growing evidence of sexual violence committed by Hamas during the attacks and in captivity. He stated that speaking out is a way to reclaim power and support others who have suffered similar experiences.
