Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will not feature real-world brand partnerships or product placement. Speaking at the iicon conference in Las Vegas, Zelnick explained to IGN that this isn't an issue because all brands in the game are fictional, allowing for creative freedom without commercial constraints.
Zelnick stated, 'We don't have any real-world brands in GTA 6. It's all fictional.' He added that this approach avoids the complexities of licensing deals and keeps the game's satirical tone intact. The decision aligns with the series' tradition of parodying consumer culture through made-up products and services.
The announcement comes as anticipation builds for GTA 6, which is expected to launch in 2025. Rockstar Games, a subsidiary of Take-Two, has not yet revealed specific release dates or platforms beyond a planned console debut. The game is one of the most anticipated titles in gaming history.
